Knights and Castles

Knights wore armor to protect themselves from everything that people shot at them. Knights used a poleax. It looks like a double ax. They used it to hammer peoples head and to ax things apart. Knights wore any kind of helmet. The helmets were very heavy. This is one type of helmet: Bascinet Pig Face Knight’s Helmet: Closeout Special Motes protected the castle because bad guys couldn't dig under the walls. There is no mote in this picure. I like all of the windows and I think that's funny. Durham Castle (c) FreeFoto.com

We read: Incredible Castles and Knights by Christopher Maynard to research this post.

  • I really like learning about knights and castles. It is so interesting to learn about things that happened so long ago. Sometimes I think we still need motes around our houses to keep the bad guys away. :-(

  • Knights must have been hot in their helmets in the summer.
